Notts County Lifeline's 'Legends Night' is set to take place at the end of June, and this year it is the turn of our former legendary defenders to fall under the spotlight.

The event has been pencilled in for Thursday 26 June in the County Suite at Meadow Lane, from 7:30pm.

Entry costs just £2 on the door, and this includes an extra number for those attending in the Lifeline weekly draw which will infact be made by the Legends in attendance on the night.

Last year's 'Legends Night' saw the centre-forwards of the past fall under the spotlight, with Les Bradd, Tony Hateley and Gary Lund facing questions from the audience.

So with defenders set to face the audience this year, we have two big names lined in the form of David Needham and Dave Watson.

Needham made 471 appearances for the Magpies, scoring on 35 occasions between 1966 and 1977. He was a Division Four Champion in 1971 with the Club and also gained England 'B' recognition whilst with the Club. Watson meanwhile racked up over 50 caps for England during his career, and he made 53 appearances for the Club - starting and ending his career at Meadow Lane.

Lifeline Co-Ordinator Lynn Lawson explained: "We're really looking forward to hosting this year's Legends Night.

"The event last year was enthralling as our former forwards looked back on life at Meadow Lane and scoring plenty of goals, and I'm sure this year's Legends Night with the defenders will be just as intriguing."
