Notts County Manager Ian McParland has confirmed that goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington is set to commit his future to the Club by the end of the month.

The 34-year-old shot-stopper was offered a new contract by the Magpies boss last week, with his current contract due to expire at the end of June.

After successful negotiations Pilkington terms have been agreed and, all being well, Pilkington will sign a two-year contract upon his return from holiday towards the end of May.

McParland said: "I'm delighted Kevin has agreed terms.

"He had a tremendous season for us between the posts, picking up the Supporters Club Player of the Season Award and the Players' Player of the Season Award.

"He is a fantastic professional, and we're delighted he has agreed to sign a new deal with us.

"While Kevin is away we will get the contract drawn up, and then once he returns he will come in, have a look through it and make sure everything is in order and then sign."

Pilkington made 35 appearances for the Magpies last season, taking his total to 123 in Notts colours since signing from Mansfield Town in 2005.

McParland also confirmed there was no further update on the contract situation with Mike Edwards, who was also offered a new deal a week ago.
