Ian McParland has stressed that his Magpies players don't know how lucky they are to have spent a week in Austria at the highly regarding National Sports Centre in Obertraun.

The Magpies have been at the camp for the last week, taking in intense double sessions on the fantastic training fields at their disposal every day.

The squad have also been encouraged to make the most of the excellent other fitness-related facilities which are on site.

Two games have also been played whilst in Austria, allowing McParland to see how his players are shaping up almost three weeks into pre-season training.

"Footballers don't know how lucky they are, to come out here," he said.

"It is fantastic. The facilities, the scenery and everything about the place is first class.

"For Notts County, our Football Club, to send us out here is fantastic.

"I really do appreciate that we were able to send the players out here, and they appreciate it because they are delighted to be here.

"There aren't many teams that would be able to do it in our division, and while it doesn't guarantee us winning games it is great preparation.

"Chelsea's Academy and Motherwell are here at the moment, Plymouth are over next week and Preston were here last week, and I can see why.

"It is the first time I've been out here to Obertraun. I've been to other training camps in Austria, but this is lovely.

"There are no distractions for the lads either which means we have been able to concentrate on the football side of things and look after ourselves."
